First Woman to Serve as CIA Director
Gina Cheri Walker Haspel is the first woman in US history to hold the post of CIA Director on a permanent basis and was appointed by President Trump in 2018.
She was previously the Deputy Director under Mike Pompeo during the early presidency of Donald Trump.
She became Acting Director following Pompeo's resignation to become United States Secretary of State and was nominated by President Donald Trump to become the official Director of the CIA. She was also the second female Deputy Director of the agency.
Born in 1956 in Kentucky. She joined the CIA in 1985.
